WNBA ALL-STAR WEEKEND

The Brief
Women's basketball is having a defining cultural moment, and my role was to ensure Chase Freedom showed up in a way that felt authentic to it. From the Golden State Valkyries' home opener to WNBA All-Star Weekend, the opportunity wasn't just to celebrate the game—it was to celebrate the fans, the athletes, and the movement. My approach was to lead with fandom first. Build experiences that felt competitive, immersive, and culturally relevant, while creating space for the bigger story. That thinking became Her Game. No Limits.—a platform celebrating both the game and everything pushing it forward.

Valkyries Ball Out Ball Pit
Reimagined a familiar fan favorite by turning a ball pit into a fast-paced basketball competition.
Competitive Twist: Reimagined the traditional ball pit as a scaled-down basketball court, complete with hoops, a game clock, and live officiating.
Search. Shoot. Score.: Players raced to uncover hidden balls with different point values before sinking them for prizes, adding strategy and suspense to every round.
Pre-Game Energy: Turned a simple photo moment into a high-energy experience where kids, families, and friends could compete together before heading into the arena.
Takeaway: The best activations don't always require something new—sometimes it's about rethinking something familiar and giving people a new way to experience it.
Cashback Courts Design
Designed a visual system that celebrated Chicago while bringing Her Game. No Limits. to life across every touchpoint.
Designing Without Limits: Built the visual language around an infinity motif, using light, dimension, and form to symbolize the limitless future of women's basketball.
A Sense of Place: Pulled inspiration from Chicago's skyline and architecture to ground the experience in the city instead of dropping in a generic event build.
One Experience, Two Courts: Connected two distinct competition spaces through recurring fan-favorite moments, including the Draft Hub, Locker Room, and oversized Coach's Clipboard merch display.
Takeaway: The strongest event designs don't ignore their surroundings—they borrow from them to make the experience feel like it could only happen there.
THE MOMENTS
Used programming to prove that Her Game. No Limits. was more than a tagline—it became the lens for every moment on and off the court.
Theme in Action: Every moment was designed to celebrate the many ways women are changing the game—from athletes and creators to media voices and fans.
Culture-Forward Lineup: Curated programming featuring Please Explain with Aria Hughes and Complex, Between the Lines with Lisa Leslie, plus talent including Candace Parker, Tina Thompson, and JuJu Watkins to reflect the breadth of the movement.
Beyond the Court: Extended the theme through the Create(HER) Game creator tournament and a merch collaboration with Round21, reinforcing that women's basketball is influencing culture well beyond game day.
Takeaway: A theme shouldn't stop at the graphics—it should shape the talent, the programming, the partnerships, and ultimately how people remember the experience.
